My life began on a farm near Sleaford in Lincolnshire with two very loving, caring parents along with my two, senior to me Sisters.
We all had a great time on the farm working together. Looking after the animals and working in the fields. The days were very long for my parents, whom arose well before the crack of dawn and worked well into the evenings, with no time for rest. That didn’t stop them from arranging our lovely days out to the seaside on the long hot summer days, (as I record them), and to the theatre on those cold winter evening.
At Christmas time, my parents worked even harder to make it a time for us to remember. And believe me there hard work was not unfounded. Everthing was organised on Christmas Eve.
In my very young years I went to bed early due to the arrival of Father Christmas. To awaken early next morning, unwrap all my gifts and walk down the stairs into the large farm kitchen. Mother being her usual busy self with Father by her side. Taking time out to give us attention. The home decorated throughout for all the festivities, ready for the fun to begin.
The family all gathered on the different days ahead. The Aunts, Uncles Cousins and Friends, arriving with there gifts. So much to see and do that it was all rather sad when it ended. But it wasn’t long before something else came along to replace all the fun and excitement that we had.
On leaving school, I trained as a children’s Nanny and acquired a post on a family estate in Northamptonshire. Leaving to marry my childhood sweetheart. We had two lovely children born onto us whom have produced for me, seven most wonderful grandchildren.
Although family life now is so much different, to when I was a child. Times have changed and you have to go along with the flow, so to speak. With so much to do now in the, 'so hectic life', especially for the children. Even so life remains to be very exciting for my grandchildren. But in a far different way to what my child life was like.
I enjoy the family life still and think that there is nothing better than when we all get together. Sometimes in my garden, where we chat on the lawn and around the patio table.
I have always enjoyed writing but with the busy style of life that I have lead, I never managed to take it serious until I managed to get my first work published in 2003.
It was another exciting time in my life visiting the school’s, reading and interacting with the children, signing sessions around the country, meeting all kinds of different people, enjoying the company of them all. The attention that I received from the media, giving me excellent reviews.
If I add my life all up, it really is as exciting as the character’s in my book. As when NEANA wakes up of a morning, she thinks that the day is going to be just an ordinary day. But then it all changes into NEANA and her Magical Adventures.
